The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is the first major performing arts facility
built in metro Atlanta in four decades. The Centre is located in northwest Atlanta,
at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway at Akers Mill Road, adjacent to I-75 inside I-285.
The Centre is scheduled to open September 15, 2007. The Cobb Energy Centre will
be a premier venue for Broadway shows, ballet, concerts, educational shows, family
performances, opera, corporate meetings and events.
Cumberland Mall has undergone a transformation, adding 77,000 square feet of space,
featuring architectural focal points including a lifestyle, pedestrian-friendly
streetscape, with an open-air plaza complete with fountains and outdoor seating.
An array of new dining options, specialty retailers and fresh design features have
revitalized the ambiance of the center.
This expansive, comfortable space, with its low ceilings and lodge appeal, plays
better in the evening (when there's live jazz in the bar) than during the day. Nonetheless,
all of the tables in the multilevel dining room offer at least a partial view of
the river, though most folks who come for Sunday brunch are more interested in what's
on the buffet tables.
A top-shelf American seafood house for lunch and dinner, Ray's is better known to
most Atlantans for its palatial Sunday and holiday brunches. You'll find perennial
favorites--the prime rib carving station, the prepared-to-order omelette station,
the abundant shrimp cocktail--as well as cooked-to-order waffles, the usual bacon,
eggs and breakfast breads and even an ice cream station.
